statue

It was made with charcoal over acrylic on paper........i wanted to make it look a little more cartoon looking, but i haven't decided yet if i'm happy with it.

Great job with exploring different types of materials. I've seen more and more artists, students included, have more success with combining charcoal with acrylic. It is difficult for me to see the quality from your photo, but I'm glad to see you sticking with a basic yet highly successful analogous color scheme. You seem to have an affinity for shading.

Also, I don't know what type of paper you used, but it looks like it started warping on you. One of the hurdles that every artist goes through is knowing when to use high dollar supplies and when it is not necessary. Papers can be especially tricky.

I like the colors used in this piece. It reminds me of a Chinese pagoda on an dusky winter evening.
